Robert Emmet Dixon

Robert “Bob” Emmet Dixon of Treasure Island, FL passed peacefully surrounded by family on July 25th, 2026 at Danbury Hospital, in Danbury, CT. He was 65.

Bob was born in Queens, New York on September 1st, 1959 to Mary Patricia Dixon and John Cortland Dixon. He was the youngest of four children.

For over 35 years, Bob worked as a steamfitter in New York City - a job which he took great pride in and remembered fondly. Bob met his wife, Mary Ellen Pender, in the mid 90s and they were married on July 7th, 2018. When Bob wasn’t working, he enjoyed going for rides on his boat and spending time with friends and family. In 2019, Bob retired and began splitting his time between his home in Treasure Island, Fl and his wife’s family’s summer home on Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield, CT.

He was predeceased by his father, mother, sister (Kathleen Dixon) and his wife. He is survived by his sister Rosemary Callahan (Tim), his brother John “Jay” Dixon, several nieces and nephews.

Bob will be remembered for his hardworking nature, generosity of spirit, sense of humor, and ability to tell a great story.

A memorial will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026. Interment will be private.
