Gary Lee Hunt

August 9, 1971 – July 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Lee Hunt, who departed this life on July 29, 2025, at the age of 54, at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Gary was born on August 9, 1971, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he lived most of his life. He was a loving father, a loving brother, and a kind soul who left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Gary was employed for many years as a cook at Sacred Heart University, where he took pride in his work and formed strong bonds with colleagues and students alike.

He enjoyed entertaining and cooking for large parties and most definitely took care of those around him before he thought of himself.

He is survived by his beloved children, Malaysia and Jalen; his father, Willie James Walker; and his siblings: Marie Harper, Portia Hunt, Keion Hunt, and Anthony Jefferson, all of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Gary was preceded in death by his brother, William Hunt (1999), and his mother, Cynthia Marie Hunt, who passed away in Athens, Tennessee in 2002.

His warmth, humor, and caring nature will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to thank the 9th Floor Cardiac ICU and Medical ICU Nurses and Doctors at Bridgeport Hospital for the care they gave to Gary.
