Barbara Koval 82 of Seymour, passed away on Saturday April 26, 2025. Born in Derby, Ct to the late Peter and Anna (Kwoka) Balko. She was a lifelong resident of Seymour. She worked at the Southbury Training School where she was a strong advocate for the people she cared for, retiring from there at age 55. Barbara loved her home where family and friends would often gather for coffee and conversation, her door always open to anyone in need. She was affectionately known as “Dang" to her grandchildren. She loved animals and would care for any stray that came her way. Barbara was an avid gambler who loved trips to the casino and playing Keno at Lucky Deli.
She is survived by her son Kevin Koval (Lori) daughter Laura Stevens (Jeff) her three grandchildren, Alexa Koval, Kevin Koval Jr., Tyler Stevens and her partner Dietmar Worobel.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial Service in celebration of Barbara on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Community Church, 238 Freeman Road, Oxford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Coco's Animal Rescue Efforts (CARES) of Seymour, in her memory.
